- What time can I arrive before my booking?
Bookings can be made in full and half hour increments. Please note that you need to allow time to set up and clear away after your event within your total booking time.
- When I hire the halls, can I use the outside space too?
The outside area is public space so is open to all. Hirers of the halls are more than welcome to make use of play areas and the field outside. Obviously please be sensitive to any other formal activities going on.
- What is available for me to use in the kitchen?
The kitchen is equipped with large range cooker with double oven, a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and self-filling hot water urn. Mugs, cups and saucers, tea pots, teaspoons and plastic jugs are also provided. Sponges, washing up liquid and tea towels are also available for use in the kitchen.
Aside from this, please bring anything else you might need from home, e.g. a knife to cut the birthday cake, oven trays and oven gloves if planning to warm food etc.
- What about cleaning and disposing of rubbish?
The Centre is cleaned regularly on a professional basis, but users are asked to leave the halls and kitchen ready for the next user and hopefully in the good condition they found them in.
Crockery should be washed up and put away if used, kitchen surfaces wiped down and hall floors swept. The Centre has a cleaning cupboard which provides broom, dustpan and brush plus a mop and bucket for any spillages.
Rubbish needs to be removed from site so please bring refuse sacks with you.
- Can we have alcohol at the event I am planning?
Alcohol can be provided at an event on a private basis as long as everyone drinks responsibly. If you are planning to sell alcohol or run a pay bar you will need to apply for a TEN (Temporary Event Notice) from Hart District Council.
- Can my DJ use a smoke machine at the Centre?
NO, unfortunately this is not possible as the Centre is fitted with sensitive smoke alarms.
- Can I have a bouncy castle at the Centre?
Yes, suitably sized bouncy castles are permitted inside the halls. It is useful to know that the ceiling height is 3.3m approximately when choosing a castle.
- Do I have to pay a security deposit?
Refundable cash security deposits are required for some bookings and Centre Managers can advise whether this is applies to your booking.
- How do I access the Centre for my booking?
Around a week before your booking, a Centre Manager will contact you and arrange a time for you to come to the Centre and collect keys. At this appointment, you will be shown around and briefed on the correct procedure for opening/closing the building. Full details are provided in written format too, including a list of emergency numbers.
- What do the Audio Visual facilities include?
The Zebon hall is equipped with a projector and projection screen wall behind the stage. There is also a CD/DVD player and sound system available including a PA. Connections exist, so if you just want to run a presentation from a laptop, or play music from your phone, then this is easily achieved.
The stage area can be illuminated with use of the built-in lighting rack. An extra charge does apply to use of the AV equipment.
